Right Service, Right Time

On Monday, 16th March 2015 the Birmingham Safeguarding Children Board will be publishing the refreshed threshold guidance “Right Service, Right Time” – Delivering effective support for children and families in Birmingham.  The framework provides everyone with clear advice about what to do and how to respond if a child and their family need extra support.  The new guidance takes account of the recent changes in partnership working with the creation of the MASH in July 2014 and the development of early help services including Local Family Support and Safeguarding Hubs.

A detailed implementation plan will be presented to the Birmingham Safeguarding Children Board on the 31st March 2015 outlining how agencies will be required to embed the RSRT guidance within their front-line practice.  The refresh will be supported by a series of briefing sessions being held on the 16th, 19th and 23rd March 2015 across the city.

Right Service Right Time Multi-Agency Training

The implementation plan incorporates a comprehensive training programme for all front-line staff which will be delivered through their organisations, supplemented by the Birmingham Safeguarding Children Board multi-agency training for voluntary sector organisations. The training programme enables hands on experience in determining levels of need and understanding of how to access appropriate support based of than level of need. This will be advertised in due course.

Our aspiration is for Birmingham to be a city where all its professionals put the child at the centre of their planning, decision making and service delivery.
